"Man at the Wheel
Also known as the "Fishermans Memorial Cenotaph", this statue of a cod fisherman is gazing towards the sea with stern look of determination. The sculpture is a seaman at the wheel and pays homage to the maritime history of the Gloucester and Cape Ann area. Just as the full sized one in Gloucester, MA it bears the inscription "They that go down to the sea in ships, 1623-1923," part of which is from Psalm 107.

This sculpture is 5 1/2 inches tall, finished in a dark verdegris bronze patina on top of a slate patina pewter base to match the stone and bronze of the full sized statue by Leonard Craske.

weight = 22 ounces
Item #6000
